Before the new school-year begins, I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our fabulous teaching team in classroom 29!
Ms. VandeGiessen (Teaching Assistant)
I'm Carolyn VandeGiessen. This will be my sixth year at Copper Hill. I love helping students learn and I am looking forward to a great year! When I am not teaching I enjoy traveling and spending time with my three grown children.
Mrs. Sakellos(Teaching Assistant)
Mrs. Sakellos is entering her eighth year as a Teacher Assistant at Copper Hill. Prior to that she substituted six years for the Flemington Raritan district. Mrs. Sakellos lives in Ringoes with her husband and two grown children. Her two children are college students now, but they were once both students at Copper Hill! In her spare time she enjoys reading, baking/cooking, biking and taking long walks with her husband. She is looking forward to a great school year!
Mrs. DeGenova (Speech Language Pathologist)
Sher DeGenova has lived in Flemington for 32 years with her husband Michael and 4 grown children. She loves everything about communication, and is passionate about helping students in this area.
Ms. Ashforth (Special Education Teacher)
My name is Ms. Ashforth and I am so excited to be teaching at Copper Hill again this year! This will be my third year teaching and my second year in the Flemington-Raritan School District. I graduated from Seton Hall University with a degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education. I also double-majored in Social & Behavioral Science and minored in Psychology. The only thing I enjoy more than being a student is teaching and I am looking forward to a fantastic year together!
Now that you know the teaching team, we can't wait to get to know you! Enjoy the rest of your summer and we will see you on Thursday, September 5th!
