• Student Teaching in our Schools

     

    The Flemington-Raritan School District fosters cooperative partnerships with area colleges and universities and welcomes student teachers in our schools upon the request of the college for placement in our district.  Only requests received on University letterhead will be considered. 

    Student Teaching/Field Practicums in our Schools

    Steps for students wishing to complete their student teaching requirement/field practicum in our district are as follows:

    1. Submit your request to the Office of the Superintendent for approval. All requests must be sent on University letterhead.  
    2. Upon Superintendent Approval, your request will be submitted to district schools for possible placement.
    3. If a placement is secured, your assignment will be submitted to the Board of Education for approval.
    4. You will receive notification via email regarding the outcome of your request.
    5. All students approved for Student Teaching/Field Practicum, as per Board policy, are required to complete a Health History Form, including Mantoux test results, and obtain fingerprint clearance from the State of New Jersey.  The processing fee is incurred by the student.    
    6. The Office of the Superintendent must receive all required paperwork prior to the start of the assignment. There will be no exceptions.
    7. Forms and applications are available in the shaded box to the right.

    Student Observation Placements in our Schools

    Steps for students wishing to fulfill classroom observation requirements in our district are as follows:

    1. Submit your request to observe to the Office of the Superintendent for approval. All requests must be sent on University letterhead.
    2. Upon Superintendent Approval, your request will be submitted to district schools for possible placement.
    3. If a placement is secured, your assignment will be submitted to the Board of Education for approval.
    4. You will receive notification via email regarding the outcome of your request.
    5. All students approved for classroom observation hours, as per Board policy, are required to complete a Health History Form, including Mantoux test results.
    6. The Office of the Superintendent must receive all required paperwork prior to the start of the assignment. There will be no exceptions.

    Classroom Policy:

    In the event that the cooperating teacher is absent, the Student Teacher may deliver the instruction under the supervision of the substitute teacher.
