It probably won’t surprise you to learn that French children eat a next-level afternoon snack. In fact, it looks better than anything we’ve eaten all week. TikTok content creator @isabellebertolami shows us what she feeds her daughter when she picks her up from school.

This mouthwatering afternoon pick-me-up is everything you’d expect to see in France. We want to eat this right now! She tells us that in France they call an afternoon snack a goûter; a sweet treat to bridge the gap between lunch and dinner. It sounds as delightful as it looks. Using a fresh baguette, she slices off a few inches and then fills the dreamy bread with a few pieces of milk chocolate and a thick slice of salted butter. Holy cow! How have we never thought to do this before? This kid has truly got it made growing up in Paris.

The audience loved this sweet idea. Viewer @NahB0ii commented, “Oh, to be a tiny French child getting picked up and given this little treat for the walk home. No worries or stresses in life. I wish!” We wish all children could grow up this way. Viewer @algo.snack said, “Butter and chocolate? I have accepted the goûter lifestyle.” We have accepted it too. Viewer @lorenherrera commented, “Making myself this immediately. Why should French kids have all the fun?” We should definitely partake in some of this joy as well!

Our afternoon protein bar isn’t looking so hot after seeing this. We’re going to grab a fresh baguette and give this a try instead.
