    Health Education Overview
    Grades 3 & 4


    Overview:
      Health education is provided once in a 6-day cycle for Grades 3 and 4.  The following topics are taught at each grade level. 

    Content In Grade 3:
                 Skeletal System
                 Muscular System        
                 Dental Care
                 Digestive System
                 Nutrition
                 
    Content in Grade 4:
                 Circulatory System
                 Respiratory System   
                 Immune System
                 Diseases: Communicable and Non-Communicable
                 Substance Abuse: Alcohol & Tobacco
                 Growth and Development (Human growth, puberty, male/ female reproductive system)
                    (this unit will be taught in May/ June, and a form will be sent out before discussion in
                     class)
                 Nervous System (Spinal Cord, Nerves and Brain)
