We just finished a computer lesson on animal classification. We learned that animals are grouped, or classified, based on characteristics. Some example animal groups we learned about are vertebrates/invertebrates and mammals/fish/birds/reptiles/amphibians. During our lesson, we took notes while watching a video by Anne and Moby on Brain Pop Jr. You can watch the video by clicking on this link: http://www.brainpopjr.com/science/animals/classifyinganimals/Here is our fill in the blank notes page.
After taking notes, we showed what we learned about the animal groups by playing a matching game on www.sheppardssoftware.com. We had to drag the animal group characteristics to the correct animal group bin. You can practice by clicking here.
