Meet Mrs. Custy
Hello, Barley Sheaf families!
I am the Stretch Program teacher at Barley Sheaf School. Being an educator is something I have wanted to do since I was a little girl playing "school" with my brothers and a basement chalkboard easel. I attended The College of New Jersey, and began my teaching career in the Hillsborough Township Schools. After staying home to raise my family for many years, I returned to teaching in Flemington in 2009. I am excited to be starting my eleventh year at Barley Sheaf School. My goal as a teacher is to inspire my students to develop a love of learning and help them acquire the skills needed to become independent learners.
I live in Flemington with my husband and three children, Andrew (college junior), Peter (college sophomore) and Jayna (12th grade). I, too, am a student in a graduate program at Rider University. I love spending time with my family, and we are actively involved in community activities. Throughout the year, we will likely see each other at sporting events, meetings and even Shop Rite! I love seeing my students and families outside of school, so be sure to wave and say, "Hello!"
