Dear Kindergarten Friend,
My name is Mrs. Mikalsen, and I will be your Kindergarten teacher when you begin school at Barley Sheaf. I'm so looking forward to meeting you and the other students in our class.
I wanted to let you know a little about myself. I am married to Mr. Mikalsen and we live in Pennington, NJ. We have two children. Our son Eddie lives in Indiana and is a mechanical engineer with the Department of Defense - Navy. Our daughter Melissa is a graduate student at NYU where she is pursuing a PhD in Physics. We have two playful cats, Molly and Daisy that keep us all on our toes. My family and I have been having a wonderful summer and have traveled to Michigan, Tennessee, the Adirondaks and Maine to spend time with family and friends. I hope you have had lots of fun this summer and have stories to share with me about your adventures when you get to school.
Kindergarten is so much fun! We will be learning, exploring and meeting new friends. We will be doing many interesting projects during the year. We ask that you bring the following supplies to school to use in our classroom:
~6 boxes of Crayola Crayons, 24 crayons per pack (regular size)
~4 Elmer's Washable School Glue sticks (0.77 oz. size)
~1 box of tissues
~1 box of markers (Crayola broad line)
Please Note: Supplies can be dropped off when you come to Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday, August 29th or on the first day of school. You also need to bring a backpack and a big, bright smile!
I look forward to meeting you in person on Thursday, August 29th!
See you soon!
Mrs. Mikalsen
