I live in Hopewell Township, NJ with my husband Ed, a chemist at BMS.
We have two children.
Eddie is a Mechanical Engineer. He lives in Bloomington, Indiana and works as an engineer for the Navy.
Melissa is attending NYU and pursuing a PhD in Physics.
We also have a two sweet cats named Molly and Daisy.
I grew up in Hamilton Square, New Jersey and graduated from Villa Victoria Academy. I received my BS in Education from The Ohio State University in 1991. I spent my first year teaching 5th grade in Baltimore, MD. Following that year, I moved to the Flemington area and began teaching 3rd grade at Barley Sheaf in 1992. In 1998 I earned my Masters in Education from The College of New Jersey. I continued teaching at Barley Sheaf until 2000 when my second child was born, and I decided to become a full time mom for a few years. In 2006 & 2007 I began teaching again covering some long term Student Support positions at Barley Sheaf and Robert Hunter. From 2008 to 2013 I started a new phase of my teaching career and became a Preschool teacher in Lawrenceville, NJ. Finally, in 2013-14 I came back to Flemington and spent the year teaching just about everything -- 3rd grade, 2nd grade, Stretch and TA support in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd and 4th grades (it was quite a year). In 2014-15 I began teaching Kindergarten here at Barley Sheaf.
In my spare time I love being with my family - which now entails trips to New York and Indiana to see our kids, or to Florida, Michigan, Missouri, Texas and Long Island to see the rest of our extended family. I work with various PTO and Education Foundation committees both in Hopewell Township and in Flemington where I am the treasurer of FREF (Flemington Raritan Education Association). I also like to garden, read, write, go for walks and paint/draw/craft. I love teaching Kindergarten! Kindergarten will be a chance for your child to grow socially, emotionally and academically.
