Home to School Folder
All notices and homework going home can be found in your child's "Home to School" folder. The "Stay at Home" side is for all completed work or notices that may stay at home. The "Bring to School" side is for homework and notices that need to be signed and returned to school. Please check this folder every night. Also, if you need to send in any notes for me, please put them in this folder.
Please Label!
Please label any personal items and school supplies with your child's name. This will be a huge help when everyone is in the classroom!
Supplies
Your child will have a desk to store any personal items. Crayons, markers, pencils, etc. will not be shared. However, if your child needs some extra supplies, I do have "borrow bins" where he/she can take pencils, markers, etc. I have scissors in the classroom too.
Change in Dismissal
Please remember to send in a note if you are picking your child up from school, or if there is a change in your child's dismissal procedure. If your child does not have a note, please call the office to let them know. The office will then notify me of the change in dismissal.
Snack
I encourage children to bring a snack for our morning snack break. Cheese and crackers, popcorn, pretzels, fruits, vegetables, yogurt, applesauce, breakfast bars, and granola bars are just a few favorite nutritious suggestions.
Lunch
The children are quickly adjusting to lunch in the cafeteria. Lunchtime is about 25 minutes (that's all!), followed by a 20 minute recess period.
Back to School Night
Please note that there will be an early dismissal on the Back to School Night. Please strongly consider attending, as there is a lot of information discussed. Additional information will be sent home in the near future.
Conferences
First grade conferences take place in November. Conferences are in lieu of a report card. All conferences are about 15 minutes long.
Mystery Reader
Are you interested in reading to the class? Then be a mystery reader! You may pick 1-2 books from home, or I can supply you with a book from the class. Please email me a day and time that would work for you.
