Ms. Alison Jaye
I am Alison Jaye. I began at Robert Hunter in 2001, and taught first, second, and fourth grade. Beginning this year, 2024-2025, I will be a Reading and Math Support Teacher.
I graduated from The College of New Jersey (then known as Trenton State) with a degree in Deaf Education, K-8. A few years later, I earned my Masters degree in Education through Gratz College in Pennsylvania.
I loved being a student so much that I vowed never to stop learning. I have been trained in Orton Gillingham (sensory approach to reading and spelling), The Responsive Classroom, Multiple Intelligences, and Kagan Cooperative Learning. I spent a few years in the Flemington Raritan district as a Cooperative Learning Trainer for teachers. Cooperative Learning has transformed my teaching and student learning.
My second job is being a mother to 2 fun loving boys. Ryan is 16 and will be attending his junior year at Hunterdon Central. Tyler is 13 and will be an 8th grader at J. P. Case. We spend a lot of time at Karate tournaments for Ryan or playing any sport outside with Tyler. Having children has made me a better person, a compassionate mom, and an understanding teacher.
Other than teaching and being a mom, I love the outdoors. All summer long, I walk, swim, and kayak. While I enjoy these sports, I actually prefer the cooler temperatures and have great fun in the snow come winter. Some other interests of mine are reading, playing card or board games, and just laughing with my friends.
