enVision Math 2.0
With the implementation of the Common Core Learning Standards, followed by the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, the district adopted the enVision Math 2.0 resources for grade 6. enVision Math 2.0 is a comprehensive, standards-based mathematics resource that provides focus, coherence, and rigor. The program seeks to help students develop an understanding of math concepts through problem-based instruction, small group collaboration, and visual learning with a focus on mathematical reasoning and modeling. Differentiated instruction and ongoing assessment are used to meet the needs of students at all ability levels.
What it looks like: Grade 6 students begin class with a daily review and a small-group, problem-based activity. Students then complete guided and independent practice activities. Teachers use daily assessments to monitor student progress throughout each unit. The ongoing assessments enable teachers to target what topics students need additional practice and also when students are ready for enrichment opportunities. Students will use Chromebooks on a regular basis to view and practice content.
Online Student Resources:
All teachers and grade 6 students should access Savvas (formerly Pearson) through their Clever log-in. If there are questions or concerns, students should work closely with their teachers to troubleshoot.
