While listening to your child read is supportive of their skills, it's also important to continue reading books to your child. This can facilitate vocabulary development and provide an opportunity for them to access books that are beyond their reading level. Talking about books is a wonderful way to learn more about your child and discuss life lessons, too!
Remember, it's also important for students to read familiar and well-known books. This helps to strengthen their fluency skills, knowledge of high frequency words, and allows them to see details they may have missed the first time around.
Thank you for your partnering together, as we foster a love of learning and reading in your child!
