Board News & Notes
At the January 27, 2014 public Board meeting, the Flemington-Raritan Board of Education made further strides in advancing our district’s efforts to implement a full-day Kindergarten program beginning in September 2014. The Board is considering all components of establishing a full-day kindergarten program, including writing a developmentally-appropriate curriculum, identifying approved classroom spaces and facilities, determining staffing needs and examining total cost as we work toward balancing budget dollars to fund all of our programs and services.
This is a historic time in our district as the Board is taking significant steps to offer an expanded and enhanced education for our youngest learners. The Board believes now is the time to dedicate our resources to establishing a full-day program to benefit all kindergarteners. In the coming weeks, the Board will complete a feasibility study and determine if the district will be moving forward with instituting a full-day program this fall. We look forward to the results and appreciate our community’s support of this beneficial endeavor.
