Greetings from Dr. Ruberto
Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
I assumed the position of Interim Superintendent of the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District on July 3. It has been a fruitful five days. The District has been gracious and kind in greeting me as I assumed the position. There is no transition period. The work has begun; we are focused. As identified at the June 27 Board meeting, I am my own person. I work for children and do not move off that focus. I bring everyone with me to identify and realize the work to be completed and the way we complete our work. It starts with relationships.
The Ruberto Family has called Flemington “home” for over 30 years. Our children have benefited from the dedication and expertise of the teachers and administrators of this District. I have confidence in our school District. Right now, as a citizen, educator, parent, and property owner, I have concerns. I could spend a great deal of time analyzing the problems but I choose instead to move forward with everyone. I request that you allow me to complete work in the service of our children.
Now is the time for all of us to redirect our focus and build upon the fine tradition of the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District and move forward, together, in the service of our children and community. As your Interim Superintendent, I respect your perceptions, observations, and lack of trust that has been expressed. At this time, I most respectfully request that you allow our District to complete work and begin to plan for our September opening – a time of excitement for children and our faculty and staff. Let us begin.
As an educational leader, I am a culture builder focused upon the needs of the children, administration, and staff. I have worked very hard in the service of children and my profession, and I embrace the challenges and the work.
I will be holding informal meetings with parents in September. An announcement will be shared confirming these dates. I look forward to these meetings.
